As the semester is set to end this week, I still have no idea what I am going to do come May 9th. I had to turn down the Washington DC internship because it was feasible for me to do it at this moment in time. I am excited about school ending next week and being able to walk across that platform and become a college graduate. This is a great accomplishment in my life and in my family. None of my cousins have graduated from college, and I really do not think that anyone in my extended family has received a 4-year college degree. My aunt received her nurses degree. I have no idea how that goes for schooling. Enough about graduatung. I will talk more about it later.
This week I have been working on a paper dealing with Annihilation. THis is a very interesting topic. I had no idea what I was getting myself into when I picked this topic for Christian Doctrines. I found out the other day (courtesy of Dr. Woodring) that my topic is a hard one and is a confusing one. Lets see if I can put this doctrine in a nutshell for you all out there. Annihilation deals with the unsaved people agter Christ returns. This doctrine states that these unbelievers will just disappear and will no longer exist. Some supporters of this doctrine believe that they will not suffer any punishment and will disappear; whereas others believe that they will suffer punishment for some time and then will disappear. They also state that making unbelievers suffer punishment for eternity is against God's character in dealing with love and justice. The confusing part comes when you get into the detailed aspects of this doctrine. The major controversial area when dealing with this doctrine is the defination of eternal. A lot of the same Scriptures are used to support annihilation and to disprove annihilation. Most of it deals with the interpretation of various judgment language words. I think that is enough of this for now. If you want to read the paper, let me know and I will email it to you.
I think I am going to print it off and then get ready for bed. have a good last two days of school.
